I will make this short!
The Good Stuff:
-Had hubby and BIL John with me. We had a blast and they were troopers standing out in the rain all day just to be there for me.
-Boise is an awesome city. People are nice, very active. Area is beautiful and very green. The downtown area where I stayed and race ended was awesome. Lots of little places to go hang out at and just sit and people watch.
-Got to see and have dinner with Tory, Tim and Robert from Newton , Michael Simpson and Craig Alexander. All such fabulous people.
-Got to meet/hang a bit with Sam K and her hubby.
-Learned some good/valuable lessons that you only get from going thru an experience.
-Finished and have now completed a HIM race.
The Not so Good Stuff:
-Weather was ARSE! Washing machine water, Rain, windy, hail. :)
-Sam did not follow her nutritional plan. By the time I got off the bike I was probably down 600-700 calories. NO FUEL = 's body not working well.
-Cold and wet the entire race. Problems is I don't have the best knees in the world but they generally only bother me if they get cold. Well they were, and at one point it felt like someone had ripped my legs off from the knees down.
-Falling significantly short of what I know I can achieve and what I trained for. BUT oh well **** happens.
Boise was a great race and I would HIGHLY recommend it to ANYONE. Who knows maybe I'll go back some time in the future!!
Yeah that's rain in the picture. :)

The Sam's at the finish. :)

You look fast on that bike. Your feet are just a blur. Way to go Sam!!!
Great pictures Sam! Glad you got lots of positives out of the race. The weather- UGH! I'd be right with you. I think it is hard because we train in such hot, dry conditions, I would not have raced well in those conditions at Boise. Congrats on your HIM and be proud of the achievement!
Yes, I am injured- 99% sure i have a tibia stress fracture but cant get an x-ray to confirm until I get back to the USA :-( Bummed but I will bounce back, I'm sure. Trying to heal as best I can because I have IMAZ this year. I am thinking of doing the Mtn man race in Vegas. I figure i will signup for the HIM and then can switch to the OLY if the running is too much. Sorry for the long post but I haven't been on RW forums at all lately to catch up with ya!
